With the rehearsals and studies, Sophia barely had time for herself, or to eat a consistent meal. Being in a sciences major was something demanding, but being in a musical and a music minor along with this was crazy and even more insane. She was basically living on red bull. Shara was scared of her when she was during that period…sad thing was that it was only starting. Since Shara had started to tell her that she should watch for herself, she decided that she would go take a break and get food.
It was in early evening and she decided to go grab a bite and to try to relax. Coffee would be good…it would give her more time to revise her lines for Hairspray. She smiled sleepily at the idea and went off quickly to there along with her purse. It was a Café she had discovered lately and enjoyed getting food there.
Yawning, Sophia walked in and pushed the door open. She looked drained but she was going to go through it; she had no choices if she wanted to keep her results high. It was soon her time to order and she went to the cashier. “Hum, I’d like an expresso along with….” She looked up at the menu. “a vegetarian wrap.” She wasn’t paying attention as to who was serving her right now, the café wasn’t full of people at that time and all she was hoping to do was to be able to get her lines done and to be able to have a little sleep.

James Diamond didn't mind the evening shift at Kingsdale. It was actually rather relaxing compared to the morning and lunch shifts. Man he hated those with a fiery passion. Standing in the back James was multi-tasking between texting his friends and going through his script. Slowly, he was becoming nervous about the musical. What if he wasn't good enough? Of what if his voice gave out and his understudy got the chance of a lifetime to become famous? he was stressing; big time.
Hearing the door hit the oh so annoying bell, James let out a small groan and made his way up to the front. To be honest, he didn't pay attention at all. He simply remember what the girl had ordered and went to the back to make it. Espresso and a vegetarian wrap. 'How do people eat these things? They look so gross' James mentally asked himself.
Walking back to the counter, James wrang up the girl's order. "That'll be $6.50" he said, mainly looking at the register. Actually lifting his head up, James blinked at the person in front of him. It was Sophia. 'Awkward' he thought to himself. "Uh hey"

Sophia waited for her order to be ready and once it was, she pulled her wallet out to look up at the teacher as he said the price. Oh, Diamond. She blinked, caught off guard at it. She wondered about how she should act, Tracy like or like herself? Not that she was having a crush on him but she still had brought her script (even if she said she would take a break) to read and memorize its lines. “Oh hey…” she said before looking down at her wallet and giving him the money. “Thanks.”
Too bad for the Tracy act. She just didn’t feel like throwing an “OMG ITS LINK” line just yet. Then again, there weren’t many people in the place, it was strangely calm and barely empty. It’d be silly wouldn’t it? She didn’t even know about if it’d be game to practice with her live. He probably had changed from the kid she knew.
She just couldn’t get over the many kissing scenes she’d have to do with James. Luckily, they didn’t get with any just yet. Which was for the best right? “How’s the script going?” She decided to ask him as she grabbed her tray. She was willing to try and give him a second chance…because she promised to Shara she would but she still couldn’t help but be bitter over the facts that he didn’t apologize to her and that he was going to be her first kiss.

Taking the money, James entered the amount and watched the register drawer open. Placing the money inside, he quickly closed it and looked back over at Sophia. She looked tired, like she had been running on a few days without much sleep at all. Hearing her question, James let out a small sigh. "It's going" he simply told her. She didn't need to know of how nervous he was. She probably had her own problems to deal with. "What about you? Hows it going?" he asked her.
Leaning on the counter some, James looked around, seeing that they were the only two people around meant James could actually sit down and talk to her for more than like two seconds. That was one reason why he loved the evening shift. Brushing some of his dark locks out of his face, he glanced back at Sophia. "Please tell me how you can sit there and eat that. Because it looks so gross"

Okay, it was awkward. Maybe even more awkward than the first time they met again, in the auditorium. Why was it always like that? Maybe because she still held a small grunge…no wait, a rather large one for what he had done to her. She knew that what happened in the past remained there but still. She really considered him as one of her closest friends. She nodded when he replied to her question and looked at him. She wondered about how he did not to go crazy with all of this. It was a new experience, at least to her it was and to deal with Sciences studies along with it. It was insane but she was still confident she could make it. “Getting through it.” She said giving him a small smile. She remembered Shara wanted her to make efforts with him, she really was trying her best.
Once she had her coffee in hands, she quickly grabbed it and took a sip. She sighed of relief when the effect of the caffeine was kicking in her body. She looked down at her food when he questioned her and she shrugged. “You’re saying you don’t like the food here or that this wrap in particular looks gross?” she asked him. “I’m vegetarian.” She added then shrugged. She went past that idea that grossy food might be disgusting. “You should try it though, it’s not as bad as it seems.”
Another customer walked in, thus making the bell of the door ring slightly. She smiled at herself. “I can hear the bells…” she began singing softly referring of course, to one of the main songs of the musical. Or maybe it was because she was getting tired and just wanted to be over with her plans for the evening. She grabbed her tray and found a table that was near his serving area. “I’ll be there if you need me.” She told him, letting him serve the next customer.

"I avoid any of the food here just because I'm around it so much" James told Sophia. Being around all of the food and the drinks, it all became rather nasty to him. But then again that apparently happened at a lot of food places. Hearing the bell of the door ring and watching Sophia move to a table, James nodded his head. "Alright" he said to her.
Serving the costumer was fast. All they wanted was some coffee. Nothing too special. Once he had made the guy his cup and handed it to him, he watched him add whatever he needed and leave.
Running his fingers through his hair James sighed. He only had about another hour or two before his shift was over and he could crash on his dorm bed. Shoving his hands into his pockets, he walked over to Soph and gave her a smile. "So what were we talking about?" James asked before his mind reminded itself. "So I was thinking, maybe we could hang out some time and go over the script together?"

Sophia nodded as James explained to her the reason of his comment. Ah, it sounded fair; she too would probably be sick to eat salads if it was all she saw the entire day. She could understand him. She glanced at the customer as they went to the front and let James give them their coffee. It was calm here, she actually liked the place – and of course, it wasn’t because James worked there, nah.
She didn’t expect him to come back to her once he was done and was slightly surprised when he returned to her. Maybe Shara was right, maybe he did change and perhaps appreciated her company. “Sandwiches and bells.” She said casually but returning the smile to him. It wasn’t as awkward as the last time they talked. She perked up slightly from her chair and took another sip of her coffee before letting it run through her veins as he questioned her. Hanging out with him for the script? That sounded like a plan. She nodded. “I need that, alright.” She said giving him a small thumbs up.
Looking around and seeing that there weren’t any of her friends or people who might know her, she leaned in further. “Aren’t you nervous about the whole thing?” She asked him in confidence before sitting back onto her chair. “I have finals all over my head with the Sciences major and I have to worry about having my first kiss on stage and I’m not even talking to you about dating someone on stage while I’ve never done that.” She stopped herself when she had admitted to him her worries. She blushed slightly and looked away before taking a bite of her wrap. Awkward.
