Sophia frowned when she entered into the lunch room. There were many stands that were offered to them but there just seemed not to have many healthy food places, or more like, places with no meat. She couldn’t bring herself to eat any kind of animal. To her, a living creature was a living creature, no matter how good it could get. She sighed as she tried to look for a good restaurant until she found the salad bar. It was getting annoying, to always eat salad. She loved these but couldn’t they have something else that contained vegetables than a salad?
That was one of the few things she disliked in this university. Other than that, it provided her enough distractions and it was neat- mainly because she was sharing a room with two amazing girls. She smiled at the thought of her friends and went to get herself the salad she wanted before going to look for a table. That was always the most difficult thing to do. She didn’t want to go to a too crowded table as she was hoping to do a few homework for her science major. She also needed to practice her lines for the musical. The musical would be the best thing for now and she found a table that wasn’t occupied much before pulling out the script next to her tray.
“This shouldn’t be hard to memorize.” She said to herself as she looked at the various lines she had to say. She knew she was starting right off with a song called “Good Morning Baltimore.” However, she skipped right to her few lines she had to say in the beginning. She didn’t want to fail at the rehearsal even though there was one person amongst the crew she disliked.

Coasting into the mess hall after a quick workout at the gym, Jo was feeling like she was in need of something to drink first and foremost. She hadn't really intended to sit around for long, that was until she saw her friend Sophia. It had looked like she was in the middle of something, but the blonde young lady assumed that a quick hello wouldn't prove to be too much a distraction. After purchasing a water from one of the many vending machines, Jo walked up to the table and took a seat without a word. In fact she didn't say anything for a moment, giving herself some time to uncap the water and take a quick drink. “So hey...what are you up to missy?" Setting her bottle down she smiled warmly hoping her friend wouldn't mind some company at the moment.

Sophia was quietly reciting the lines to herself until she noticed someone sitting down at her table. At first, she wasn’t bothered but when she heard the voice, she looked up and smiled at her friend Jo. That girl was great, really. She showed her the script she had in her hands. “Was trying to get a little down during my break.” She explained. “I need to do my sciences homework too but I don’t think I can concentrate in there.” She said with a smile. She always preferred to do them either in her dorm or at the library. Yes, some people still didn’t respect the silence but it was for sure quieter than here.
She then paused and gave her friend another small smile. “I’m sorry for attacking you with IM’s the other evening.” She said. Last thing she wanted to look like was a whiner. She was going to go through that, no matter how often she would have to step on her pride. She didn’t think that Jo would be mad but the least she could do was to apologize. Sometimes, she did get carried with her emotions. Maybe it was in her Hispanic blood, she didn’t know.

Scooting to the edge of her seat, Jo suddenly forgot all about having been exhausted moments ago. For some reason, re-discovering the news that her friend was going to be in the school musical reinvigorated her. “Oh my gosh that's right! I'm still super excited for you by the way. You’re gonna bring down the house with your performance." Now brimming with a sense of proud nature, Jo was sort of taken by surprise at the mention of “sorry". “Oh no don't even worry about that, it's what friends are for. Are you feeling any better about the situation?" There was no way to change the past, or the cast list for that matter. She knew James pretty well, and passing up a role like this was never going to happen. Jo really wished there was something more she could do, but as far as the situation was concerned she could only play emotional support until it all passed. “I mean, has he even tried to apologize yet for how things ended up back then?" With the question in the air, Jo settled into her seat, not wanting to give of the impression that she was in a hurry if Sophia wanted to talk. With a water in hand, the blonde was set to hang for as long as need be.

Sophia smiled widely, having the same confidence Diamond had for a moment. “I know right? I knew I was the one who could relate the most with the girl. I’m so happy I got the role! It’s one step further to become famous I suppose.” She began starting to ramble about her role. “I was wondering about if you could help me with my acting at some points? Reciting lines is boring alone!” she said with a small laugh but soon the conversation went back to what she had done to her friend back then. It really wasn’t cool to gag like that around her especially since he was friends with most of her friends apparently…
She gave her a smaller smile and nodded once. “I’m still digesting it all but I don’t feel as bad as I did about it. That sounds stupid right?” she asked with an awkward laugh before taking a bite of her salad. She ran a hand through her long curled locks as her friend questioned her about James and frowned. Had he ever tried to apologize? She didn’t know if he tried anything but she hadn’t hear any sort of apology.
She shook her head. “Nothing, he probably was as surprised as I was to see him again, you know, when the past comes back haunting you.” She shrugged and looked away for a second before glancing back at Jo. She rested her arm onto the table and turned her attention to her salad. “You know, at some point, I wish things didn’t end up the way they had, but what’s done is done. I suppose he prefers to stay with hotter girls…” she blinked realizing what she had said and quickly picked up on her words. “Not that I like him or anything but I’m the one who’s going to have to kiss him as Tracy…” she bent her head lower to tell to Jo an important secret of hers. “He still is going to be my first kiss…” she rested her head into her hands once she said that feeling like an idiot. It was just acting but she had always been a romantic and to know that she would lose this precious moment to someone she thought didn’t like her was well…yeah.

Nodding a few times with perhaps more effort then really needed to respond, Jo was eager to hear that Sophia wanted to have her around some time when she was running lines. “For sure! I would love to help! I wanted to go out for a part myself, but I had so much work on the side that I never really got out there for it. Maybe next time." It bummed her out for a while, but she was in a much better place now knowing she could still in some way be apart of things. But just as soon as the energy high came, it went. The topic had hit a more serious note which was Jo's cue to pull back on some of her excitement. “I really don't think that's stupid at all, it just means you're forgiving him in some ways. It just goes to show how much more mature you are then a lot of other people around here." Scanning the lunch room she could still feel a high school vibe. It was sort of a let down since Jo had always been hoping University was going to be different.
There wasn't much time to really dwell on that. Jo's attention was snapped back at a moments notice like a rubber band at the mention of “hotter girls". For some reason the comment filled her with a hint of rage. It wasn't meant for anyone, it was all just the idea that angered her. “Who's to say you're not one of the hotter girls? If a guy can't see you for the lovely girl you are then he doesn't deserve to know you!" After expelling her thoughts she took a long drink of her water hoping it would cool the fire inside.
It was in that moment that Sophia dropped the small bomb on her that James was going to be her first kiss. This almost caused her to spit her water up, but instead she swallowed quickly and chocked on it for a minute. “W-wait what? James? Really?" It all made sense now why Sophia had been so worked up about the whole thing. Sure her past coming back to her must have been a shock, but for that same person to be her first kiss? “Sophia...does he know?! I mean I know it's not real but...this is a big deal. It's your first! That's almost not even fair." This lunch was turning out to be a roller-coaster of emotion, one that Jo wasn't even close to ready to get off of.

Sophia smiled brightly as Jo agreed to help her. She knew that the girl probably had more experience in the acting matters so she would gladly take any kind of tip she would give her. She was sad however that she didn’t get the chance to get into the musical because she was almost 100% they would have taken her for any role on the list. “It’s sad, it would have been amazing to be all on it together.” She said with a smile. Besides, it would help her deal with her major secret as well.
She paused thinking about what Jo told her; she supposed that she was forgiving him in a way but she knew deep down that she wouldn’t forgive him completely unless she heard an apology coming out of his mouth that was dedicated to her. It might be too much to ask but she didn’t think so. She nodded agreeing with the girl. “Yeah, I know, makes me wonder about if we’re still in high school at times you know.” She remembered pretty well her first years of high school and it wasn’t all so jolly. That was until she found dance, then, she began being respected because she began looking ‘normal’. In a way, she thought it was outrageous and that people were superficial…she was glad her friends could look past that. “You’d think it’s different in the Sciences Major but it really isn’t.” she added rolling her eyes at the thought. “Some kids always find ways to look or act like immature idiots.” No wonder why they both were still single; they were bright enough not to get with a douche.
Sophia startled a bit at Jo’s rush of comments about the other girls. She seemed to be worked up about it and she quickly looked down. “I know but, sometimes, it’s still hard.” She offered her a small smile. “And it wasn’t as if anyone bothered themselves to go ask me out.” She added. “But then again, if I am to be stuck with an idiot, I’d rather be single for the rest of my life.” She sighed slightly before she told her friend the major secret she had.
She placed a lock nervously behind her ear and was unable to hide a blush. This was really awkward. She bet he still saw her as the ‘other’ girl she used to be. No doubt he’d throw a fit having to kiss her. She bet any boy wou- she chocked as Jo questioned her. “W-what?” she repeated but had heard exactly what her friend had told her. “N-no!” She quickly said. “Don’t you know just how embarrassing it is?” she asked with a softer voice tone. “I-I mean….this is not the first kiss I expected b-but…I’m not sure a boy would understand how important it is…”she trailed off. She really didn’t want him to know, what if he thought it was a joke? Or worse, what if he felt like throwing up whenever he thought about the idea of kissing her? No thank you.
